Very unfortunate for our staggering tourism industry, where we all are putting our best efforts combinedly to revive it just fast before the season starts in mid-September.
Now just ponder over how our tourism industry has been damaged with such information going around the world, where we stand when we go out for marketing. They will think that in India, being such a big country, this must be an unending process. It's very difficult to keep control over tourism, hotels, quality standards, and he may be the next victim.
Nearly 30 pc of the total holiday package component is 3 meals and evening tea-time and snacks. The whole journey is disturbed with bad food. This tourist psychology needs to be taught regularly in the catering syllabus. I used to teach in my first 7 lectures:
- Tourist Psychology — Create in mind a belief that India will be Home Away from Home.
- Safety and Security
- Cleanliness
- Safety of Drinking Water
- Free from flies and insects in eating areas
- How you serve and your clean dress and smiling face, a symbol of good service. Special care for children in the family; keep in mind India is a family destination.
- Don't expect tips, as that annoys when service charge is included.
And lastly, Courtesy at all times.
