As a Tourism man when posted overseas as India,s Tourism Representative my major concern was to educate holidayers to educate them with travel tips How ig orant they were about India and convince them lndia is the cradle of civilization and yon can see the World in India But While travelling to you need some travel tips for a comfortable holiday India is a sub continent and can be explored with repeat visits ,

Can't see in one go Some major tips are... 1. Dress.. India has Summer, Winter, monsoon and spring seasons. Cotton is the best for Indian summers Sun is bright all the day , get a wide brimmed hat,Sun glasses,and water bottle. Camera, Batteries . Monsoons mont.hs have heavy rains july. Sept, carry collapsible cameras,and slip in shoes. Sun screen lotion should be in your bag ang handy towel . Even advice to have a good first aid kit, travel Medi kit for medicines you are habituated. Drycleaning.. use .hotel laundry facility. Think twice if you are carrying delicate fabrics the use known reputed Drycleaning boutiques.
Language.. English and Hindi is mostly spoken in India, but we have local languages , in south English and local languages Tamil is quite common I can give you separately some phrases for your starting communications in subsequent tips. Travelling Bus train, Rickshaw .. cycle, auto rickshaw, scooter Taxi private taxi operator hand pulled Rickshaw ( in Kolkata), and every mode of transport for dessert, mountain, trekking, river boats, ferry cruise. Offering a new experience Railway ticket are problem but indian Railway has Tourist guides in major cities to help you india Rail pass of different duration are real bergIns. Better use Tour operator services govt approved Tour operators services is a must. Pl never but tickets from tours These could be invalid same for booking hotels. Railway stations have snacks shops, inside the trains have Restaurant rooms but you can buy water and snacks from hotels also. In winter months SMOGs are common Dec jan and flights are delayed be prepared for that. In train samosas, pakoras, Biscuits, Tea Coffee are available, but you can pack some fruits, sandwiches if you try to avoid oily snacks. Night driving should be avoided. Photo graphy.. indians like to get photographed. But some times it could be problematic at some places. Like phtography at Defence installations, Govt sensitive buildings, ASI monuments specially for filings prior permission is a must Also traditional families girls don't like to be photographed Do take permission before camera is focussed on them.. india has very traditionally linked families Enjoy your holiday
